EGYPT – Egypt Church Attack Deemed a Misdemeanor

An intruder who broke into a Cairo Church and attacked two Christians while shouting Islamic slogans has had his case referred to a Court of Misdemeanors, reports CoptsToday. This court has decided to also present his case to a psychiatric hospital.

The victims of the attack, as well as several witnesses, say that the intruder held a Koran while attacking them and heard him say that he wanted to kill them because they were Christians. However, the authorities are claiming that he committed this action because of a mental illness and not because of Islamic extremism.
