When, in 2014, Daesh initiated the genocidal campaign against religious minorities, Christians, Yazidis and others, many religious freedom advocates hoped that such atrocities would trigger a change on how the issue of religious persecution is addressed. As we approach the 4th year since Daesh unleashed its genocidal campaign, it is clear that we are still far from seeing a change. A change that could release religious (minority) groups from their suffering or give them a chance of survival.
