Amir Taleipour and his wife Mahnaz Harati were arrested during a raid on their home in the city of Mashhad by Iranian intelligence officials. Their 7-year old daughter was home during the raid and witnessed the aggressive arrest of her parents. The Christian couple was arrested on December 6th and have not been allowed any communication with family members since then. The authorities have also denied the couple access to legal assistance. Their young daughter is currently being cared for by family members.
It is common for the authorities to significantly increase the number of Christians arrested during the Christmas season. It is part of their strategic attempt to intimidate the church into silence.
