On October 31, Pakistan’s Supreme Court acquitted Asia Bibi, a Christian woman formally on death row for committing blasphemy. This announcement was met with rage by Pakistan’s hardliners who led three days of protests against the court’s decision across the country.
According to news reports, Bibi remains trapped in a Pakistani jail that has been converted into a safe house. According to sources connected to CNN, Pakistan’s army and intelligence services have jurisdiction over the jail and are in charge of her safety.
