INDONESIA – Increased Police Presence in Indonesia as Persecution Rises
International Christian Concern
Indonesia, a Muslim-majority country, is seeing an increase in Christian persecution as the radical Islam rise in the nation. As a result, the police have to increase their presence in Christian communities to protect them from violent attacks.
A member of Forgotten Missionaries International (FMI), Bruce Allen recently went to Indonesia. In doing so, he met with many church members to hear their stories. One pastor he spoke with said “there’s been a continual police presence there for security sake since the coordinated bombings against three churches on a single Sunday, back in May.”
One pastor in Indonesia, claims that he sees the police presence as a good thing. Claiming it keeps the churches safer and allows the police officers to hear the Gospel while they are working.
