Boko Haram has continued it reign of terror in Northeastern Nigeria and the lake chad regions of Cameroon and Niger. Late last week, the terrorist group from Borno State, Nigeria, crossed into Niger and conducted two attacks in the Diffa Region of Southern Niger. The first of these attacks led to the deaths of seven mining workers from the FORACO mining company.
Then 48 hours later, they returned and kidnapped 15 young schoolgirls from two different villages. There have been no ransom demands as of yet. This kidnapping is reminiscent of the kidnappings of the Dapchi and Chibok girls in 2017 and 2014 respectively.
